[Elizondo:1668] Somos Primos Jamuary 2012 146th Online Issue

http://www.somosprimos.com/sp2012/spjan12/spjan12.htm

Dear Primos and Friends: Happy New Year . .

Welcome to 2012,. . . the year identified for monumental change by the  Mayan calendar which stops at 2012.  There are four articles on the subject, besides the cartoon by Sergio Hernandez.

The social and economic changes that have taken place with the Internet have been so dramatic, one wonders with positive expectancy what 2012 will bring. I am delighted when I come across a new website dedicated to Latino heritage, history, or the many newsletters currently targeting topics of interest to the Hispanic community.

With so many newsletters on current topics, I will be leaning more to family heritage and history.  I invite everyone to submit a brief direct-surname-pedigree family history to share with others. We all benefit.

A new category is HEALTH ISSUES, starting out with a brief article on the history of the medicinal use of marijuana.

Be sure and read Ernesto Uribe's article inviting new research on the topic.
"Are Hispanics the First to Fight, Last to Be Promoted?"

Best wishes for a wonderful, exciting year, filled with marvelous changes for a better America . .  Mimi
